No costs will be covered, however, Scotiabank along with the CPA have minimized the impact on Canadians by providing a transition period of almost two and a half years. Consumers will generally be able to use old-format cheques until their supply runs out, as long as a good image can be captured from them. They will receive new format cheques when they re-order on the regular replacement cycle, so there are no additional cost implications to them.
