Peter Ritchie understandably ducked this when a reporter recently posed the question. The likelihood is that a final determination hasn’t been made yet by the defence. In many cases, defence counsel wait until the last drop of the prosecution case to make the pivotal decision to call their client. Ritchie will be aware that the prosecution likely has a thick dossier already prepared with an exhaustive list of questions awaiting his client if he takes the witness stand.
