Will Reprimand Effect Future Jobs?

0

People think that Reprimands, final warnings and cautions etc, get wiped after a certain period of time. They couldn’t be further from the truth. In the UK all police records are kept for 100 years. The police may tell you that it will be wiped after a certain length of time, but that is a total lie. Cautions are meant to be wiped after 5 years. I done research on this and found that all runnings in with the police are kept on a database for a full 100 years. Although your reprimand won’t and shouldn’t effect your job opportunities. It will always be on the Police National Computer, and if the police think that the conviction is relevant to a job that you may be going for they have the powers to disclose that reprimand to an employer. Although on a CRB check it will have (SPENT) next to the reprimand, which means you have completed a rehabilitation period. The Government is fast becoming Big Brother, they want to know everything about everyone.
