Will R-134a / HC affect the material used as Evaporator i.e. Aluminium?
The material used in the manufacture of Evaporator i.e. aluminium can suit to HFCs and HCs. This situation would be critical when moisture enters in R-134a system, which results in acid formation and eventually eat away the Aluminium. Hence it is recommended to evacuate the system properly. Critical with R-134a is acid formation if moisture enters system and acid can eat away AL then. Hence one more good reason to evacuate properly.
