Will people ever realize that Ayn Rand was right about Objectivism?
Rand’s Objectivism will not likely be considered right by most members of society in the foreseeable future, so my answer to your question is no. Objectvism is a demanding and uncompromising philosophy. It is difficult to convince members of a welfare state like the United States that it should adopt the laissez-faire philosophy Rand advocates. People will have a natural resistance to an economic system that will place the disabled and disadvantaged in a position in which they are at the mercy of private charity for aid. In fact, the trend in this country, if anything, is anti-Objectivist. The most recently forged link in the anti-Objectivist chain is found in the healthcare debate. The Democrats may legislate a form of nationalized healthcare if, as expected, they control the White House and both houses of Congress next year. As you can see, the welfare state is only expanding. Will there come a time when the expansion of the welfare state results in an outcome like the one described
