NEW DELHI, OCT. 30, 2008, 16.00 Hrs (CBCI News): As Sr. Nami Lakra opened the side gate of St. Catherine’s School at Raikia our first glimpse was at the CRPF police who were guarding the camp. When Nami said, “These are our people,” the CRPF police stood still and let us go inside the camp. Another medical volunteer who accompanied us said, “It is still unsafe to enter through the main gate of the school premises since the main gate is along the main road”. Religious group called Daughters of Charity is managing the Catharine School. Just before entering the camp the team met some volunteers who had come from Bangalore to offer medical services at the camp site. Apparently the district administration seemed to have warned the volunteers not to engage people with any other activity other than medical care.
