To install PCguard, you must use Internet Explorer. Once installed, many of PCguard’s features are independent of your browser, so PCguard Anti-Virus will function normally whether you are using Netscape, Opera or Internet Explorer. However, the Pop-Up Blocker uses technology that is specific to Internet Explorer, so they will only function if you use Internet Explorer as your browser. The Ad Blocker will continue to block ads with all browsers, but the right-click option to add more adverts to the list of blocked ads will only work with Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer is also needed to install PCguard.

Yes. Many of PCguard’s features are not dependent on your browser. Firewall, Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware, and Parental Control will all function normally whether you are using Netscape, Opera or Internet Explorer. However, the Pop-Up Blocker use technology that is specific to Internet Explorer so they will only function with Internet Explorer. The Ad Blocker will continue to block ads with all browsers, but the right-click option to add more advertisements to the Block Ads list will only work with Internet Explorer.
