Yes, if you use the card at a merchant who does not have the IRS-regulated Inventory Information Approval System (IIAS) in place. Or, if you put your card number on a payment coupon to pay a hospital or doctor’s office invoice. Those types of transactions do not transmit comprehensive information to PayFlex and those purchases will need to be verified.
