Will one of those shock collars help calm down my 40 pound german shepherd puppy?

As a boy I used to wire the door-handle of the factory’s old bach (bachelor’s quarters) which had become a storage shed, to the generator of a hand-cranked telephone, then call my little sister. The electricity never calmed her…. Anyone who needs to electrically shock a pup to stay out of a particular room should not have a pup – the proper way is by being OBSERVANT so that you always notice the pup’s actions and, on cue, either pick it up to take it out to the toilet, or order a stern “No!” if it is just displaying curiosity about what’s in that forbidden room. My youngest lived inside 24/7 as of about 8 weeks old and, although my bedroom door is always open, there were only about 3 occasions when I had to look in the passageway for my second sock. But I was consistent – EVERY time I found her trying to go through that door I startled her with voice & foot stamp, plus sometimes I threw a tennis ball or balled-up sock at her and timed my “No!” to match the moment when the sock hit.
