Will Obama offer Clinton the Vice Presidency and will she accept?
I suspect she will be offered the VP slot, whether Obama is crazy about the idea or not. Many folks have the mistaken idea that the candidate picks his/her running mate and no one else has anything to say about it, which couldn’t be more wrong. The candidate will put forth his preference(s) and the Democratic powers that be in the national committee have to approve it. If those powers feel that he must take Clinton to ensure a Dem victory he will do so whether he likes it or not. Good example is Kennedy and Johnson. They had some pretty intense dislike between them but the party thought he had to take on Johnson to ensure that they would win, and so he did. This could work out the same way. And yes, I believe that she would accept. I think that’s part of why she refuses to quit right now. This “they hate each” thing is completely immaterial. If the party wants it that way, that’s the way it will be, and they’ll work together for the win.
