I would guess that he would celebrate it in the White House. It’s clear that he’s taken part in Kwanzaa celebrations in the past. And given the spotlight he will be in, I don’t foresee him changing that. I can’t ignore the questionable roots of Kwanzaa and particularly its creator. However, I do have to disagree about some of the details that follow your question. Kwanzaa is definitely not a “Blacks Only” celebration. It is a celebration of African culture. Admittedly, a majority of the people worldwide who celebrate the holiday are non-white African-Americans. Yet there are people outside of that group who do join in with the celebration of African culture. Historically the holiday has had a huge problem overcoming the stigma that came from Dr. Karenga’s unsavory past. However, having Barack Obama celebrate it as President of the US may give it a large boost towards overcoming that hurdle.
