Will NSTC-M work with the Japanese Wii? What is the difference between NTSC-M and NTSC-J or U?

Yes, the Japanese Wii will work on a TV that has the NTSC/M analog TV system, or NTSC/U or J for that matter (I have a Japanese PS2 and been playing it on a standard NTSC/U tv for the last 5 yrs). In terms of using your Japanese Wii on these tv’s, NTSC/M, NTSC/J, and NTSC/U systems have no difference. ie. You can play your Wii on a TV bought in any of the following countries: NTSC/M includes most of the Americas and Caribbean, Philippines, South Korea, and Taiwan, NTSC/J is Japan, NTSC/U is United States specifically. Now, be aware when you BUY games. If you buy a Wii game with NTSC/U, you will NOT be able to play it on your NTSC/J-based Wii system. Same with NTSC/M games (If you have a US/Canada bought Wii, then you can play NTSC/M or NTSC/U games). The same applies if you buy a PAL game from Australia/UK; ie. you can only play on a PAL Wii, as well as only on a PAL TV.
