Will New York become first state to have an out U.S. senator?
From New York Daily News: Randi Weingarten, the out president of the New York City teachers union, is among those vying to replace Hillary Clinton in the U.S. Senate. Weingarten, who would become the first openly gay U.S. senator, said in a statement that she is “very flattered and honored” to be considered for the post by New York Gov. David Paterson.
