Will Netflix and like businesses cause the extinction of Blockbuster and other video rental clubs?

While it may hurt the in-store video rental establishments, I think you’ll always have them, at least for a few more decades. Netflix can take a few days to get to you, so someone will always want to go in and pick out a movie on short notice. I think the bigger risk over the years will be internet and cable companies offering instant movies available through them. Cable companies already have On Demand viewing and Pay Per View, it’s just a short time before you pick out whatever movie you want to see and pay a couple bucks to watch it.
