Some scholarships are not considered income for Social Security purposes. The Commonwealth Scholarships (CS), including Commonwealth Education Costs Scholarships (CECS) and Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarships (CAS), are NOT considered income for social security purposes. This means that current benefits such as payments made to you by Centrelink or concession cards should NOT be affected by payments of either of the Commonwealth scholarships.
