The MERCHANT may submit charges immediately, or may take a few days to process the charge. Lloyds will update your balance instantly, as soon as the MERCHANT processes the charge. Blondie: The type of card is NOT the issue. The type of PROCESSING is. I use my DEBIT card at the gas pump at least once a week. It ALWAYS takes at least 24 hours to process. If I use the SAME card inside a store, it posts instantly.
