Will my Account work with a Proprietary (AOL, Juno, etc…) Browser?

0

• No. AOL, Juno, and other ISP packages group their product with a proprietary version of Internet Explorer. This browser is not able to authenticate through proxy protocols. If your computer has a version of Internet Explorer of this type, please either download a valid version of Internet Explorer from Microsoft or download Netscape Communicator. • Do I need Netscape for the Proxy to work? • No. Both Netscape and Internet Explorer work with the Proxy account, as do most unsupported browsers (Opera, Mozilla, Konquerer, etc…). However, due to the proprietary issues explained above, Netscape has been found to be more stable on all computing systems with the Proxy services. • How do I configure the Proxy in IE or Netscape? • Configuration is actually very simple. Just go to the Proxy Configuration web page and follow the step-by-step instructions for Manual setup. The Helpdesk has included instructions spanning a wide variety of browsers to accomodate all people using the proxy service
