Miroslav Klose has scored more goals for Germany in South Africa than he managed in 25 Bundesliga appearances for double winners Bayern Munich last season, continuing his incredible goalscoring record at the World Cup. Having found the net five times in the summers of 2002 and 2006, he has now struck 14 times on the on the ultimate stage, drawing him level with German legend Gerd Muller as the country’s all-time leading World Cup scorer, and just one shy of overall chart-topper Ronaldo’s haul of 15. If there’s one criticism that can be thrown at the Polish-born 32-year-old though it’s that the last two times around, his form died out as the tournament went on, and despite starting both of Germany’s semi-finals, the 2002 Final and the 2006 third-place play-off, he didn’t strike in any of those games. Perhaps that inability to deliver when it mattered to his country most – an accusation that could never be levelled at 1974 trophy-winner Muller – is why Klose is priced at an attractive-lo
