A. No. Automotive power mirror motors (brushed 12v DC motors) are tremendously sturdy and resilient. They are designed for intermittent use which is consistent with the LaneFX mirror movement. Plus, LaneFX is constructed with hardened, automotive-grade hardware that uses digital-to-analog motor controller electronics specifically-selected for compatibility with automotive mirror motors. Throughout LaneFX’s product development cycle, we have tested virtually every power mirror platform in contemporary vehicles over thousands of consecutive LaneFX movements (and also over constant amplified power to test the impact of the Mirror Speed Boost function). So far there has been no reported failures or degradation in OEM mirror motor performance. This testing also now includes the growing numbers of LaneFX units on the road today.
