Will J.R.R.Tolkiens book, “The Silmarillion” ever be made into a movie?
Nope, not happening. The book is basically a treatise on the mythology of Middle Earth, it would be extraordinarily difficult to put the barrage of rather dry information from that book in a way that would make it understandable to non Tolkien fans. As it is, I found the book so ardurous to follow that I haven’t even finished reading it. The Lord of the Rings trilogy of movies has some departures that I find unforgivable, and mind you, they are pretty true to the books… now imagine trying to put The Silmarillion into a movie and dumbing it down enough for non Tolkien fans to be able to follow it … and that includes myself, as I don’t consider myself a fan by any stretch of the imagination. Don’t see it happening, unless they make it in documentary form and in multiple parts … in which case a lot of people will not even consider watching it.
