Will it work with laptop serial port, laptop irda or usb-irda?
It will work with laptop serial port. It doesnt work with laptop IrDA/usb IrDA. It will not work with virtual serial port like USB-Serial. Get the USB version. Darn thing doesn’t work help!!! Plug the receiver properly. Select the correct port where the receiver is plugged. Do the remote check to see if the software is detecting the remote. Keep the receiver away from any source of Infrared radiation like: CPU, power supply, other electrical equipments, sunlight, cooking range, equatorial sub Saharan region and all such places. Check if you have put batteries in the remote. If you have firewall installed, give all access to RemoteM@te. While installing if you have any error messages just ignore those and continue, keep new DLLs. Some functions may not work in some verisons of Windows. For Linux you do everything yourself, ‘coz you are smart!!
