Will I receive pay protection if I apply for a post that is more than one grade higher than my moderated grade, e.g. the post is gradeG and my moderated grade is E?
Yes, you will receive salary protection of your base pay if your existing salary is higher than the grade of the post, e.g. the top of gradeG is £21,306 and your current salary is £23,473. You will continue to receive your existing salary in accordance with the Council’s policy on pay protection. Further information on how salary protection workscan be found in FAQ 6.1. This applies to all applicantswho apply for postsmore than one grade higher than their moderated grade whether or not they are in the redeployment pool. Redeployees please note,a post that is more than one grade higher than your moderated grade is not considered to be suitable alternative employment and therefore, recruitment will be through the normal recruitment process.
