Will i need my wheelchair for long when my 2 leg casts are removed after 16 months?
You’ll probably find the physios start you walking with crutches pretty soon after the casts are off but you won’t want to go very far on crutches to start with. How much you use your wheelchair will probably depend on how active you want to be. If you hate the wheelchair and don’t mind being pretty sedentary then you probably won’t need it for long at all once the casts are off but if you still want to have a good social life and keep up with whatever your friends are doing and don’t mind using the chair to meet that goal then you might want it for longer. Don’t see getting out of the chair once and for all as the ultimate aim here. Your ultimate aim should be to keep your friends and your social life and enjoy yourself. You’ll still get better and be able to give back that chair in a lot less time than you’ve had the casts on.
