No. you won’t lose your operating system if you restore your factory settings, but you will loose everything else. Restoring your pc to factory settings formats your main partition(wipes it clean) and calls the os and system settings from the factory backup (most of the time another partition on your hard drive, but sometimes on cd). If you do it right, you should have a system the same as the day you got it.
