Will i get sick if i breathe in too much cat hair/dander?
Unless you are allergic to cats, then you won’t get sick. And you certainly won’t die from it. Not sure where your dad heard this, but it is not true. We breathe in things much worse then cat hair just stepping outside every day. Cats shed for a number of different reasons. As the weather gets warmer they shed their winter coat, just like many animals. Cats will shed more if there is something medically wrong with them. You should have her looked at by a vet to make sure. Another thing that can cause a cat to shed is stress. Changes in their routine or environment can cause stress, and that leads to more shedding. Has something changed in the house, new furniture, new carpeting, a new family member, a new animal. Things that we don’t think of as any big deal can cause a great deal of stress in a cat. But shedding is not a reason to get rid of a cat. Start brushing you cat every day. If it doesn’t like being brushed (some cats don’t). Then get a brushing glove from a pet supply store. T
