Will i be able to conceive with polycystic ovary syndrome?
My periods went wonky when i was 16. Of course, they didn’t know much about PCOS and all that then, so, the doc double checked i wasn’t pregnant, and then put me on the pill to regulate me. When I was 24, hubby and I started TTC. I stopped the pill, and my periods were all over the place. I asked my doc after TTC for 6 months if i should be worried, given my personal and family history (lots of PCOS and endometriosis, and cysts on ovaries. mum also had fertility issues). She said ‘Lose some weight, i guarantee you’ll get pregnant.’ and sent me away. After TTC for 16 months, we went to my hubby’s doc and got a referral for a specialist. We had to wait 3 months to get in to see him. Within 5 minutes of us going into his office, he was fairly sure i had PCOS – without even giving me an ultrasound!!! His diagnosis was confirmed by vaginal ultrasound – very lumpy ovaries, and no eggs waiting to develop. The specialist sent me for a laparoscopy to have a god look inside, and to give me a DnC
