Your hair has to be free of any products to dye it. Products coat the outside of the hair shaft, so color cannot get in, but since it wears out in some places before others the color will take in some places and not others. The end result will be a really splotchy dye job. Your hair has to be clean. You can wash it and dye it tonight, but do not condition.
