Will going on pro-ana websites make me anorexic?
Going on a pro-ana website for “tips and tricks” on how to lose weight is a little like curing a cold with a bullet to the brain. Effective in that the cold is gone, but totally worthless because you’re now dead. If you want to lose weight like a normal person, you don’t go on pro-ana websites where they have slogans like “Thin is beautiful”, “see no evil! Eat no evil!”, “Being thin is better than being hungry” etc. You’ll be confronted by people that need to feel what they’re doing is positive and require this kind of acceptance in order to continue. These people need some serious help. No, if you want to lose weight there’s only one way to do it safely and that’s through proper diet and exercise.
Yeah, I go on them too, and I’ve had trouble with my eating habits and body image for the past two years. Going on them can either make you feel sick and disgusted with yourself, or it can actually help you lose weight. The tips are not healthy. They are made up by people who are sick, and need help. Please don’t go down that road. Anorexia is psychological, but you can develop it from doing what you are doing. You clearly already have some bad habits, like looking on these websites for weight loss tips. Don’t make it worse. STOP, please.
