Will global warming trigger a new ice age?
Many specialists believe that most climate patterns on the earth are cyclical. The same way the sun rises and sets, they also believe that ice ages come and go (a cyclical advance and retreat of arctic and antarctic glaciers). It’s a widely held belief that we’re in that retreat stage of the cycle, which eventually leads to an ice age. Which, in turn, will then lead to an advancement of the glaciers and so on. What’s somewhat scary though, is that many believe because of greenhouse emissions, we have delayed our ice age for more than 600 years (this number varies depending on whom you speak with). So, it is speculated that the potential ice age to come will be much more severe than in the past. Who knows? I certainly don’t.
