A hundred years is tough and you have to exclude some real possibilities like full scale nuclear war or ELE meteoroid impacts which make everything moot. But some things are predictable: 1. The oil is gonna run out. And there will be a long series of military and economic wars as people fight over what’s left. The Bushies’ oil wars are just the beginning. The upside of that is that a lot more work will be put into alternative sources. There will be a lot more nuclear energy and a lot more effort put into research on fusion reactors because they are the only hope of massive amounts of power. By the end of the century more than half of the energy in the world will come from those. There will be a lot more solar power, particularly in residential use, as the technology improves.
