Absolutely not! This commonly believed myth makes little sense in light of the fact that most districts actually prefer to hire people who already have earned advanced degrees. Why? It is great PR to hire teachers with master’s degrees. The new M.Ed prepared teacher can concentrate their time and energy solely on their students.
