Will fishing line substituted for nylon guitar strings sound good?

I’d guess not but I’ve never tried it or heard anyone else try it. There’s only one way to find out for sure, but I’d strongly suspect fishing line would break when you try to tune it to the proper pitch and would sound pretty bad if you could get it tuned. Just because it’s a long skinny piece of plastic does not mean it makes a good guitar string any more than a piece of wire would make a good guitar string. When I was a kid I made a “guitar” for school. It was a wooden box with a long stick nailed to the end and rubber bands stretched between some nails. It made noise, but I wouldn’t call it music.
