Will F-PROT Antivirus protect my computer from Windows Metafile (.wmf) exploits?

0

Yes. F-PROT Antivirus for Windows scans WMF files and detects all known exploits of WMF vulnerabilities. By default, all WMF files will be scanned both by the file contents and extension. This means that any .wmf files disguised as .jpg or .png files will be scanned and detected. F-PROT Antivirus does not disinfect WMF exploits automatically. If you set the program to delete any suspicious file when disinfection fails, F-PROT Antivirus will automatically delete all Windows Metafile exploits when detected. However, if you set the program only to report, rename or move the file, then we recommend deleting Windows Metafile (.wmf) exploits manually. Please note that this description applies to versions 3.16f, and newer, of F-PROT Antivirus for Windows.
