Will Effexor Make Me Gain Weight?
Antidepressants effect all people in different ways. Keep in mind, as you get better, you will gain weight, with or without the medication. As for me, I suffer from depression, as well as eating disorders and an anxiety disorder. While I was on Effexor, I did gain weight. The better I got, the less of an issue it became. The anxiety around gaining weight is not gone and probably never will be. It has gotten better. I think you just have to choose what is more important – being healthy or being in control to the point you are hurting yourself. You can be healthy and be in control. Good luck to you.
