Will eating spicy foods speed up my matabolisum?

Not in the least. Spicy food speeding metabolism is a fitness myth. It probably has it’s roots in the fact that spicy food raises overall body temperature which causes blood to circulate faster to dissipate heat to return the body to a normal temperature. This does burn calories, but no more so than breathing or any other bodily function that maintains homeostasis. You will not notice any weight loss or speed in absorption of nutrients by eating spicy foods. The only benefit that spicy foods have is that many spices pack a lot of flavor into very few calories and most heavily spiced dishes are simple meats or veggies with little or no added fat or sugar.
