Will crysis run faster on a pci express 2.0 *16 slot?
First off, no, you will not get much noticeable improvements if you put your graphics card in a new motherboard with PCI-E x16 2.0. Crysis does not require a very strong processor/CPU – Dual core with 2.4GHz should be fine. Crysis is a GPU/graphics card based game; it stresses out the graphics card, and not as much on the CPU (that’s why so many graphics card/GPU benchmarks/reviews use Crysis as a testing “tool”. You will be able to have Crysis running faster, better frame-rates, and higher detail if you have a better graphics card. The 4550 only have 80 stream processors, 64-bit memory interface, 4ROPs. You wouldn’t be able to run crysis on medium settings with this card and receive very playable frame-rates. Upgrading to a 4670 would allow you to play on medium settings at resolutions at 1280 x 1240 and receive 40fps+. The 4670 has 320 stream processors, 128-bit memory interface, 8ROPs; it clearly runs faster /higher performance, but it is ALSO energy efficient.
