Will clearing up my hard-drive of excess data help play a computer game faster?
Any game of program which you are using is first loaded into the memory called RAM. So more RAM means your processor can hold more data randomly in the memory and therefor better and faster processing. You hard disk merely stores the data in the form of magnetic field. The processor only picks the pattern from it and loads it into the memory. In case the physical memory i.e. your RAM goes out of space, the processor copies the unused RAM pattern to the hard disk called as virtual memory. In windows it is fixed during installation but can be changed later. So except this fixed hard disk part, there is no link of faster game and hard disk space. I hope now it is clear to you.
