Will Classillas JavaScript and layout/DOM support be updated?

0

Starting with Classilla 9.2, Classilla now uses a minimally modified version of SpiderMonkey, the exact same JavaScript interpreter Mozilla uses in Firefox 3.0.19. This interpreter is much faster and more stable than the one in previous versions of Classilla or WaMCom, and repairs many inadequacies. Plans to convert TraceMonkey, an accelerated version with just-in-time compilation, are also being considered. That said, the Document Object Model (the piece that connects JavaScript to the web page) is still fairly out-of-date and many sites relying on very current features still won’t work completely. Because document layout and the DOM are closely linked, they must be updated together, which is a large task. Nevertheless, a comprehensive revision of layout and DOM is scheduled for Classilla 9.3.0.
