The same scenario in the 1980’s was Japan overtaking the United States since they started to buy up United States real estate and investments. Everything was starting to be made in Japan. Japan’s average GNP per worker also became higher than the average U.S. worker. Japan started to falter when they started to manufacturer out of Japan for instance cars in America or manufacturing parts in China. China will probably overtake the United States in total GNP by country total however by average person the wealth of China is poor. China also needs to create a demand for products and services in their economy instead of manufacturing products. The US will remain a superpower and hopefully both countries will help one another grow especially with the United States appetite for China’s cheap products and services.
