Will Chevrolet Tavera New Engine To Meeting Bharat Stage IV?
General Motors India is aiming to launch a new engine mill for its existing Tavera MUV in India. The current engine does not come under the Bharat Stage IV norms applicable from April 2010 onwards. The company is planning to gear up with its Isuzu D-Max pick up which is sold in Thailand with a 2.5-litre Common Rail Turbodiesel engine generating a max power of 116 bhp. This will lead the MUV to directly contact Toyota Innova & Mahindra Xylo for a fight in the growing Indian car market.
