Since Zac Efron, the former “High School Musical” star, dropped out of the upcoming remake of 1984’s Footloose, “Gossip Girl” heartthrob Chace Crawford reportedly auditioned for the role of Ren McCormack. According to E! News reporter Mark Malkin, Crawford was said to have done “really well” last month during an audition for the dance-happy remake, shortly after Efron abandoned the project. However, a scheduling conflict with Crawfords hit CW show may turn into serious legal drama. I guess only time will tell who will be cutting it loose in the Kevin Bacon/Kenny Loggins classic Footloose remake.
