Will cardiovascular exercise help offset the harmful effect of smoking?

Its up to you if you want to quit smoking. Its more of discipline. Cardiovascular exercise will only increase your heart rate and let you lose weight. I do a lot of cardio but everytime my friends invite me for a drink, smoking is still there.

Yes, sure, partly but keep in mind that if you exercised *without* the smoking it would have even more of a beneficial effect. Also statin drugs reduce the cardiovascular risk and you could use extra Vitamin C since smoking reduces its levels. By the way, heart attack risk drops rapidly once you stop smoking, at the rate you smoke it should go back to normal soon after you do.
