Will carbonated water cause weight gain?
.There are no calories in carbonated water, but it can cause gas/bloat. Some say carbonated sodas increase cravings in some people, and thus may not be a good idea if trying to lose weight. Weight gain is caused by consuming more calories a day than you burn. Doesn’t matter where those calories come from, although your body will process different things in different ways (calories from protein vs calories from carbs or calories from fiber, for example). It all boils down to making sure what goes in is less than what’s being expended/burned during the day.
