Will Canada will ever host the Winter Olympics again after our luge, skeleton, etc. track caused a death?
Yes, Canada will host again.. You need to remember it’s not “our” track only. It is on Canadian soil but it was designed by German engineers and has been approved by the international bobsleigh and luge federations as well as the IOC. The venue also hosted World Cup events in the past year. What happened was a tragedy, but try blame it on Canada or for you to feel somehow responsible as a Canadian is misdirected. (Or trolling by someone pretending to be Canadian) The best designers in the world worked on the track applying everything they knew about safety to create the most challenging course in the world without undo risks. Unfortunately nobody ever imagined that series of events could happen and nothing like it had ever happened before in luge history. I don’t like the IOC and VANOC trying to wash their hands of responsibility by blaming it entirely on the slider. But the combination of a relatively inexperienced driver and nobody ever imagining what could happen led to his death. I
