Will borax and salt spinkled on my carpet for flees hurt my cat and does this remedy work?

I don’t know about the borax but I’ve had great success with just table salt. I sprinkle it everywhere, inside and out. The next day I vacuum the beds, and floors, sofas, etc. I repeat once a week until I see no fleas. You should need two to four treatments at most.
