Yes, chlorine tends to have a greenish tint to anything it reacts with. I have never actually seen someone’s hair actually turn more than a slight tint difference though. Before it turns green, the chlorine will make your hair extremely brittle, dead (even though its already dead really), lose its color, and generally be crappy hair. Rule of thumb, wash your hair every day, and when you swim use conditioner to keep the chlorine from damaging it. If you swim every day on a swim team like me, you’ll probably want to invest in shampoo dedicated to swimmers and chlorine. So, yes, it will turn your hair a tint of green eventually, but only if you have poor hygiene, and after the chlorine has already had other worse effects on it.
