Will “Big Brother”be Watching Over Hardin County?
Hardin County, TN – Motorists and pedestrians travelling in and around Main Street in Savannah may soon have a tougher time keeping a low profile. According to sources in Hardin County, a camera located on top of the Hardin County Courthouse may be pointed at you. The camera project, sources say, was spearheaded by Savannah Publishing Company, which prints the Courier, a weekly newspaper in Hardin County. Sources have also reported that the camera will have the ability to pan (rotate) and zoom on select points of interest. The camera allegedly will be broadcast (streamed) over the internet, in the popular webcam fashion, with online viewers at the helm of the camera’s operation. One source even reported that the administrators of the camera’s site would be able to interrupt a user’s session to take control of its function. What remains unclear is whether or not the camera will simply broadcast, or if footage from the camera will be recorded and archived for later use by administrators
