Will an xbox 360 hdmi port work with any hdmi cable?
While you may be able to get a lower quality HDMI cable to work, you also may NOT be able to get it to work. I purchased a 9 dollar cable from amazon and was not able to get the XBox 360 to work. I had to use the one that came with the console. In addition, the cable would not allow my PS3 to work through my sound system. I ended up spending the extra money for some extremely high quality cables by Monster and am VERY satisfied. Even though the cables are HDMI 1.3 compliant, doesn’t mean they are all created equal. There is a HUGEMUNGUS difference in the quality of the output to the sound system and to the tv with a high quality cable as opposed to a low quality cable. In the HDMI cable world, the price usually equals the quality, so if you want a great experience, spend the money. You’ll be glad you did.
