Will an increase in racial and ethnic diversity at a school like Holy Cross really help alleviate feelings of isolation or alienation?
Partially. An increase in racial and ethnic diversity will benefit all members of the Holy Cross community and will help eliminate feelings of isolation and alienation with ALANA students. Once there are enough ALANA students on campus to create a critical mass, studies show that these students begin to take ownership of their education and actually begin to bond to the educational institution. In short, they feel connected to their school and a part of a larger welcoming community. The Task Force realizes that this is just one factor which must be considered. Back to top 12.
