Will an 8x/4x AGP graphics card work in a motherboard with only 4x AGP Slot?

The card you have specified is compatible with 8x and 4x AGP ports. Therefore if your motherboard has a 4X AGP port it WILL work. If your motherboard was only 2x AGP this card would not work. Problem is that the motherboard model you have listed does not have an AGP port on it – only PCI ports (3 of them). So you couldn’t plug an AGP card into it anyway. Try looking for PCI cards ( http://www.ebuyer.com/cat/Graphics-Cards… – as an example of some cards). Be aware that the PCI port is much slower that AGP – and the onboard graphics chipset will be running on the AGP bus, so there will be performance issues to consider. (EDIT) Regarding the AGP port availability on this motherboard – I have just double checked, and whilst the examples of this board I have seen do not have an AGP port – there are photos on the web where people show they have AGP ports on boards which they claim are MS-6577
